The orchestra was founded in 2006 by Matthew Lynch who lived in Leicestershire and was studying conducting at the Royal Northern College of Music. Matt is now one of the most sought after young conductors and we are immensely proud to have started him on his illustrious career. Following Matt we were conducted by Theo Lester, who was also a student at the time. We are very keen to support young musicians.

There are four instrument families in the orchestra.
They are the strings, the woodwinds, brass, and percussion.
